Roughton Group Project

The Roughton Group project offered a big thank you to the Myrtle Grove Volunteer Fire Department for serving our community.

They presented the department employees (9) and volunteers (31), not all in attendance at the time, with a large sheet cake with their new fire engine airbrushed on top and spent time visiting with them.

The firefighters seemed to truly appreciate the group's efforts and put up posters for the "Faith, Family and Football" outreach coming up at MGEPC and purchased three tickets on the spot. The group plans to help with the Dec 9 Christmas Banquet for homeless residents of Wilmington through ICHim Ministries.

Laney Group Project

The Laney Group provided yard care for a neighbor with physical limitations after a kidney transplant. Young and old pitched in for a great day!

Waller / Smith Group Project

The Waller / Smith group visited and sang hymns with the residents of Autumn Care for our project. We went Sunday afternoon, October 14. About 15 or 20 residents and staff members attended.

After our group members met and visited with the residents, Marilyn Waller played the piano as we sang several hymns. Marilyn took hymn requests from the residents and most of the residents sang along with us.

We shared scriptures and thoughts about the hymns, and Harold Weikert gave a short message related to a verse from “The Old Rugged Cross”.

When we finished singing, the residents expressed their gratitude. However, we were the ones that were truly blessed by our visit with these saints.
